My work is an exploration of what is hidden and what is revealed—whether in a visual, emotional or historical sense. Working with layers, both physically and visually, allows me to explore this complexity.

Stitching –whether by hand or by machine—brings the layers together, physically, and allows the mind to consider interactions and connections of all sorts.

The beauty of the natural world around me inspires much of my work. The state of Michigan offers such a wide variety of natural splendor across its two peninsulas that I can’t help working to capture, interpret, and share it with others through my work.
